Reflections on FLYing
I’ve been writing the daily BabySteps posts ahead of time, so I haven’t really written anything new since I started this. I skipped a couple new days here since I was out of town for holiday activities. This whole FlyLady thing is all about the mental games we play, which I admit is what I need. I totally know how to do the care and cleaning of a house, I’ve just had a hard time doing it. There’s a tendency to throw something on that pile since there’s already a pile and then deal with the whole pile later. Then the pile becomes so big that there’s no chance of finishing it in my available time, until eventually my husband gets sick of the pile and puts it in a box in the basement. Then I can’t find the water bill. Considering we just collected a lot of random items as gifts, hauled in two days worth of clothes, and had a crying child for a couple hours the last three nights, I’d say my house does look better than it usually does. The kitchen was cleaned right before we left, which means there wasn’t a sink full of dirty dishes to avoid. The presents aren’t all put away, but most of the stuff we got was for the kid, and she’s currently in her room where the clothes and toys belong. She’s not very happy right now, though, so I’ll have to finish these thoughts later.
