Free stuff is good. I have free stuff for someone. Take a deep breath and relax. This isn’t a huge gift, but it’s my first giveaway. I thought about going all out on a some big thing, but then I realized that I don’t know how to run a giveaway. It’s always good to start small, so that’s what’s happening. While the gift is little, I don’t want to belittle it, because it’s great.
Back in fourth grade, public speaking was a really big deal for me. (Like how I say that as if it’s not a big deal for me now?) For my speech, I chose “How to Cut an Apple,” because I cut up an apple for my sack lunch about once a week. Unfortunately, my mom got a new knife that week, and I was excited to use it. Turns out, new knives are sharp, and I was unprepared for that. It was a bit embarrassing that day to prepare a speech about cutting apples with a big bandage on my thumb from cutting an apple…My mom feels really bad about that. (I love you, Mom.) I managed to gash my hands regularly when I was a kid, and generally knives were not involved. Turns out that running your hand along a chain link fence can be dangerous, too. Anyway, I think the development of good apple wedgers have made my life a little safer.
While getting my kitchen in order a couple months ago, I realized I have two apple wedgers. I’m not sure exactly how that happened, but it probably involves the string of roughly 16 moves in 10 years I had going. The giveaway prize is one (slightly used) Pampered Chef apple wedger. I already tried to give it away to anyone in my family, but it turns out my mother has made sure we’re all supplied with apple wedgers and nobody needed it. Both my apple wedgers are slightly used, so I’m giving away the one that is both easier to ship and easier for you to store in your drawer.
I had a bunch of pictures of the wedger in action, but then I deleted them without properly transferring them to my computer first. The apple had been eaten, making additional action pictures tough. Here’s one lonely picture of the actual giveaway item.
How to enter:
You can get up to three entries.
1. Leave a comment below.
2. After doing part one, for a bonus entry, follow this blog, either on facebook or by email. Both options are available on the top right of this page. You’re welcome to sign up on both facebook and email, but it’s possible that if I fill up your facebook feed and your inbox, you’ll get sick of me. Leave a separate comment below indicating you’re following Slacker Saver.
3. For another bonus entry, post about this giveaway on facebook or your blog. Leave a separate comment below saying where you posted.
I know, you’re wondering why you can’t just leave one entry saying which of these you did. It’s because I’m a teacher. I learned a few things about paperwork by correcting thousands of assignments. There’s a much better chance I’ll be able to keep track of the entries and get the prize awarded on time, with a random drawing, if you do it this way. When is the time? This giveaway is open until Thursday, May 31. I’ll select the winner on Friday, June 1.
