Whisking

This isn’t really a personal blog, but…I’m going to go all “check out how cute my kid is” for a moment.

I didn’t realize how often I whisk things until this morning. I cracked some eggs into a bowl and was whisking them a little. Within moments my daughter, who just turned one, picked up her whisk (she keeps it on the kitchen floor), found her plastic container (also kept on the kitchen floor), and started whisking her imaginary eggs by my feet. Also impressive is that I didn’t know she understood food preparation. She clearly understands food, but she has no concept of the time frame involved in preparing it. If an adult is in the kitchen and has something in his or her hand, that means it’s time for the girl to eat. The other day I pulled a roast out of the freezer and she started whining to eat. Bad news, kid…
