Ketchup Curry Marinade
My husband and I don’t always like the same foods. Jack Sprat and his wife had their opposite tastes, and so do we. He like sauces, while I am highly selective in my sauce selection. Anything that includes ketchup is inedible in my book, while he would almost be happy with a big bowl of ketchup for dinner. His mom makes this sauce that is pretty much a bowl of ketchup that he loves. I make it for him because it’s a very easy way to keep him happy. Plus, he likes it on brats, which I’m perfectly happy to eat without the sauce. This stuff takes basically no time to make.
Ketchup Curry Marinade
1 chicken bouillon cube or chicken base 1/2 cup boiling water 1 cup ketchup 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 1/2 teaspoons mild curry powder 1 teaspoon pepper
Dissolve the chicken bouillon in the water. Mix in everything else. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
Serving suggestion: Cook brats. Slice. Add to sauce and heat through.
I’m sure there are other enjoyable ways to eat this sauce, but they will not be discovered by me (because I don’t eat it) or my husband (he has one way to eat it, and that’s enough for him).
