The New Hy-Vee
Maybe the new Hy-Vee has too much shelf space, when they have this much room for the laundry detergent packets.
I visited the giant new local Hy-Vee last week. It’s not so much a grocery store, it seems more accurate to say that it has a grocery store. It took a long time to get all my groceries, but I’m not sure how much of that is due to the fact that it requires a lot of walking to get around the store and how much is because I’d never been to the store before. The layout is somewhat logical, and similar to other Hy-Vees, but I still had to stop and look down every aisle and think a bit about what would be there. Also, with all that looking and thinking, my rate of impulse purchases was higher than usual. Those purchases weren’t ridiculous, but the did require some creative meal-planning this week.
